About Nicole & Nora

It started, the way most good things do, with two miniature dachshunds and far too many questions.

Nicole and Nora are the loaf-shaped hearts of this whole operation. Somewhere between the third "why is she doing that with her ears" and the hundredth "is that a happy tail or a nervous one," a hobby turned into something closer to an obsession. We wanted to actually understand what our dogs were telling us. Not guess. Understand.

So we did the reading. The watching. The slow, patient work of learning how dogs communicate through their eyes, their ears, their posture, and the thousand small signals they offer up all day long while we are busy looking at our phones.

Here is the thing nobody warns you about: once you can read it, you cannot unsee it. Suddenly your dog is a whole conversation. The stiff pause before the growl. The lip lick that means "I need a second." The loose, wiggly joy that means you are, in fact, the greatest thing that has ever happened.

What we are really about

Our goal is simple, and it fits in three words: education, prevention, communication.

We want dog owners to catch the quiet signals before they get loud. To spot the discomfort, the stress, the early "something is off" long before it turns into a bigger problem. To trade confusion for confidence, and to build the kind of trust that makes everyday life softer for both of you.

We are, for the record, a mostly-faceless little brand. This has always been more about the dogs than about us. You will see Nicole and Nora far more than you will ever see the two humans behind them, and honestly, that feels right.

The Dog School

The blog and the free guides are the front porch. The Dog School is where the real work happens.

It takes everything we have learned about canine body language, behavior, and communication and turns it into calm, structured, five-minute lessons you can actually fit into a real life. No jargon. No shame. Just a clear path from "I think my dog is trying to tell me something" to "I know exactly what my dog is telling me."

It is the thing we are proudest of, and the reason this whole site exists.
